Nya is a Professional Dancer and Teacher from the Lower East Side of New York City. She is based in New York City and Barcelona, Spain. Her intensive dance training began as a young teen at the Alvin Ailey Dance School, continued at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University where she received a BFA and followed by The Martha Graham School.

Nya was a dancer in The Deborah Zall Project: In The Company of Women, The Washington National Opera, The Martha Graham Dance Company, Graham 2 along with a few other dance companies, productions, and choreographers both in New York City and Barcelona. Nya has appeared in commercials, television shows, and a few short films. She has also had the privilege to once receive an invitation to Urban Bush Women Dance Company’s apprentice program, and designed costumes for Jean Emile’s piece In & Out choreographed for Ailey 2. 

Nya teaches internationally at dance institutions, competitions, and festivals. Presently, Nya is part-time faculty at the Martha Graham School and Adjunct Professor at her Alma Mater Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.

Nya is also the owner of the company NYC STAR HOSPITALITIES. A destination concierge company that specializes in NYC tourism and travel. She is also founder of the Barcelona International Dance Summer Intensive a program that incorporates dance, tourism, and language to develop young dance artists.
