A proud native New Yorker from the Lower East Side, Nya is a versatile Dancer, Actor, and Educator. Nya has graced the esteemed NYC stage, commercials, short films, and television. Recently, she was in a NYC production of Stupid F*cking Bird and a limited engagement of Scott Miesse’s Piedmont Pointe at Theatre Row. Notably, she was one of the featured actors and the dance soloist in the Negro Ensemble Company's, a photograph: lovers in motion, written by Ntozake Shange and directed by Ifa Bayeza a performance that earned the AUDELCO Award for Best Choreography and nominated for Best Drama Ensemble. Nya's impressive dance credits include the Washington National Opera, The Deborah Zall Project: In The Company of Woman, and the Martha Graham Dance Company, where she made history as the first Black woman to perform Martha Graham's iconic solo Lamentation in their Italian production, Cercando Picasso. Nya is also a dedicated Teaching Artist, curates historical NYC tours through her tourism business NYC STAR HOSPITALITIES, is an elected Board of Governors member of the union American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) representing Dance Artists in the NY Region, and is a co-founder of AGMA's Black Caucus. Nya is based in New York City and Barcelona, Spain.
